Claire Silverman is an American poet, currently based in Scotland as she pursues her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of St Andrews, under the direction of Karen Solie (The Caiplie Caves, Pigeon). She earned her BA in English with honours from the University of Richmond, where she also concentrated in creative writing and film studies.

Her poetry has been published in Wrong Directions, Seedlings literary and art magazine, The Messenger Literary and Arts Magazine, and According to the Coroner.

She is the writer and director of two short films: The Little Ships (2022) (available on Vimeo), and Reflections (2023) (available on YouTube). Reflections is the visual companion piece to her undergrad thesis, a collection of essays and poetry titled “Reflections: A Meditation on Ballet and Pain,” supervised by Dr. Julietta Singh (The Breaks, No Archive Will Restore You).
